Interpreted Descriptions
Have students work in pairs, assign one student to describe what they are looking at and one student to draw the sight of the first student based only on the description given to them. Switch roles, and then compare drawings.
Role Writing
Give students a copy of a traditional oil painting that depicts both a man and a woman in the same painting. Have students observe, and then write the role for the man and the role for the woman in the painting. Have students share their writing with the class and discuss any differences in interpretation of the roles.
