Comics in the Real World
Bring in an example of use of comics that you find. It can be from a magazine or printed from a website. Be prepared to explain why it is comics.
Vessels and Messages
Have students write down examples of messages and vessels on separate pieces of paper. Put all the vessels into one box and all the messages. Each student draws one slip of paper from each box and is responsible for conveying that message using that vessel. Presentations (or performances) should be limited to 5-10 minutes.
Recreate a famous work
Students pick a story and illustrate it as a comic. All students will line up their comics as a gallery using a number instead of the story title. Students will go through the gallery and write down what they think the titles are. A prize goes to the person who guesses the...
