Art in Multiple Mediums

Create a piece of art in any medium that portrays one of the basic themes of the book. Have different groups do different themes, and then have the class view all the different works.

News Parallels

Instruct the students to bring in an article from the newspaper that has a story that reminds them of something that happens in the book.

Punishments

Have the students come up with some form of punishment that would repay Roberto for all the horrible things he did to the characters in the book.

Eulogies

Split the class into groups and assign each group one of the characters who dies in the course of this book. Have each group work together to create an appropriate eulogy for their assigned character based on the information about them provided in the text.
