• This book is written by Taddeo in both the second person (using "you" to refer to Maggie Wilken in some of the sections focused on Maggie) and the third person (for Lina's and Sloane's sections).
• Taddeo begins with an author's note explaining that she used extensive interviews and court documents to compile this work.
• Almost all direct quotes Taddeo used came from court documents, emails, letters, recordings, and Taddeo's own interviews.
• Taddeo explains that there are many versions to every story, and she is confident that these three women's stories she tells in Three Women contain vital truths.
• Taddeo also explains that she changed names and identifying details, as well as exact locations, in both Lina's and Sloane's sections.
