Lesson

1) Class Discussion: Do you know anything about the author, Pramoedya Ananta Toer? What from the title of the book do you gather about him? What do you think the author hopes the reader to experience in this novel?

2) Group Research Project: Research, via the internet or at the library, Pramoedya Ananta Toer's biography. Information should include his early childhood, his career, his important works, and his death. Ask the students to present information to the class.
