1. In Chapter 1, what does Peter say about the paper story he is writing?

Peter says that he is writing the story of what happened when his grandpa came to live with Peter's family. He says that he is typing it out on paper with his dad's typewriter. His fifth grade teacher, Mrs. Klein, said that her students should write a story about something important that had happened to them. Mrs. Klein had told Peter and the other students to use quotes for what people said and to keep sentences short.

2. What is Peter's sister wearing in Chapter 1?

Peter says that his sister looks like a walking billboard. She is wearing a Pac-Man cap, her Superman T-shirt, a jeans belt that says "JEANS" (2) on it, and sneakers that have the words "left and right" (2) written on them.

3. What type of stories does Doug like to read and why?

Doug likes to read stories that have lots of chapters that are short. He likes reading those types of stories, because it makes reading the book faster. Plus he can always find his place.
