Objective
The Vinland Sagas chart the progress of several generations of families as they explore and settle distant parts of the world. This lesson will be one of a ten part series that tracks the progress of the families, settlements, and individuals throughout the sagas.
Lesson
1.Preparatory Homework for the class: Read the Greenland Saga, chapters 1-2, and a write a list of names of every character. Leave room for a brief description of each on the paper to be completed during class group work.
2.Preparatory Teacher Activity: Create a map large enough for the entire class to see. This would be best done on an overhead projector so you will be able to mark it up and have them clean again the next day.
