Lesson 1 (from Part 1)
Objective
Part 1- The book has a unique layout that allows the author to present her original play on its 10th anniversary as well as give criticism, insight, and closure to many important subjects. Through the Introduction, Forward and Preface, we are able to get a better understanding of the impact the play made after it was written and also how it continues impacting the lives of others today. This lesson will examine the nature of the book's setup.
Lesson
1. Group Activity: Have the class split into groups of four and create a list of background information provided in the Introduction, Forward and Preface of the book. After your group completes the list have one member share your findings with the rest of class.
