Paris Agreement
This is an accordance within the UNFCCC dealing with greenhouse-gas emissions mitigation, adaptation, and finance, starting in the year 2020. As of March 2019, 195 members have signed the accord and 185 have become party to it.
Kyoto Protocol
This is an international treaty that commits state parties to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It was adopted on December 11, 1997 and entered into force on February 16, 2005.
United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change
This is an international environmental treaty adopted on May 9, 1992 and opened for signature at the Earth Summit in June of 1992. It entered into force in March of 1994.
World Health Organization
This is a specialized agency of the UN that is concerned with international public health. It was established in April of 1948.
