• In Chapter 1, Apollo had been traveling the Labyrinth for two days with Grover Underwood, a satyr, and Meg McCaffrey, his master.
• Apollo's father Zeus had turned him into a mortal teenager named Lester Papadopoulos and he had very little power left.
• To get his godhood restored, Apollo had to restore the oracles who had gone dark.
• Grover was Apollo's guide and he was leading Meg and Apollo through the Labyrinth.
• Grover, Apollo and Meg ran into trouble in the form of ancient lethal birds called strixes. The strixes attacked and when they clawed a person, the person became paralyzed.
• In Chapter 2, Apollo told Meg and Grover they could not kill the strixes because that only created...
