Objective
The Time of the Hero is a novel by Peruvian author Mario Vargas Llosa. The novel relates a tale of murder: a squealing cadet must be silenced by a gang called the Circle. Employing multiple perspectives, The Time of the Hero explores themes of masculinity, adulthood, secrecy, and the military.
