Prologue - Chapter 2

Prologue:
• Lale begins to tattoo over the faded number of a girl in his line.
• Pepan, the head tattooist, urges Lale to hurry up with his work.
• Lale hates having to disfigure the bodies of young women and tries to be gentle.
• A doctor in a white coat comes up to the woman that Lale is tattooing and holds her face.
• Lale cautions the young woman not to speak by squeezing her arm.
• Lale tattoos the number 4902 on her and looks into her eyes.
• Lale's heart beats faster and the ground sways beneath him.
• Pepan again urges him to hurry.
• When Lale looks up, the girl is gone.
