Sage cannot believe that a person like Josef who did such horrible things can look and act so ordinary. The aim of this lesson is to examine how Josef could live like a normal person and how studying this facet of his character helps readers understand his motivations.

Lesson

Class Discussion: Why does Sage find it contradictory that Josef looks so ordinary and normal? What doesn't she understand? What does Josef say is amazing about belief and actions? Why did he mention how he became Aryan and willing to commit atrocities? What did that have to do with the way he managed to live a normal life?
