Relationship Wheel
Make a list of five to eight characters in the novel, and arrange their names in a circle. Using colorful pens or pencils, draw lines between those characters who have some sort of relationship with one another. Use different colors for different types of relationships: sexual, friendship, family, employee/employer, etc. How many characters have multiple types of relationships? How does this influence the fabric, or structure of the novel? How does it impact character development?
Dramatic Re-enactment
In a small group, choose a scene from the novel you would like to act out. You may consider a scene where dialogue is present, or one which contains a lot of action. Write up a short script, paying attention to the formulation of each character. How would a certain character sound?
