Working alone or with a small group, record yourself singing "The Solitary Reaper" to the ballad tune of your choice (except that you cannot use "The Wellerman"--you will need to find a ballad tune of your own.)

Expand a Prose Passage Into a Poem

Just as Wordsworth did with Thomas Wilkinson's account of his encounter with a singing woman in the Scottish Highlands, choose a prose passage of your own and expand it into a poem. The prose passage your choose should be about 50-100 words; attach this to your work. Your poem should be longer if your prose passage is longer--between 15-30 lines, total. You may choose whether to write free verse or rhymed, metrical poetry.
