The Secret Knowledge: On the Dismantling of American Culture, published in 2011, followed a hugely controversial 2008 op-ed for The Village Voice, "Why I Am No Longer a 'Brain-Dead Liberal," in which David Mamet attacked his former liberal beliefs. In this book the author and playwright goes much deeper, taking on the key political and cultural issues of our times. In this lesson, students are introduced to the book and will research and discuss author David Mamet.
