The Schwa Was Here is a critically acclaimed young adult novel by Neal Shusterman. The novel is told from the point of view of Antsy, an eighth-grade boy who comes to know and be friends with Calvin Schwa, or the Schwa, a boy so ordinary and forgettable that he is almost invisible to other people. Neal Shusterman is an award-winning popular novelist of young adult fiction. In this lesson, students are introduced to the novel. They will research and discuss Neal Shusterman.
