What did they write together to earn extra money? What influences her fiction? How does her heritage affect her writing? How does she feel about writing? How does she feel when her writing is going poorly? How does she do research for her books? What is a typical work day like? How does she deal with writer's block?
Activity: Create a chart or poster that shows these things: books Erdrich has written, any awards she won for writing, what critics say about her writing, and what different genres she has written in.
