1) Class Discussion: What was the Chicano movement and how influential was the movement in the sixties and seventies? What was life like for Mexicans before the Chicano Movement started to fight for their rights? What problems did they cause the American government? What other famous writers supported the movement? Did the Chicano Movement ever achieve their goal?
2) Writing: Ask the students to write a manifesto for the Chicano Movement that they can hand to their enemies. What is their goal? How are they going to achieve it? Why do they think they deserve what they want?
3) Time Line: Ask the students to write a time line for the Chicano Movements in the sixties. What famous events shaped the movement and views at the time?
