Dictionary Detectives

Have the students find a vocabulary word that is new for them in the novel. Then have them look up the meaning and etymology of the word. Have the students stand up in class and read what their word means and what sentence it is used in.

Picture This

Have the students take 10 minutes and draw what Stillman would have looked like, as based on his description in Chapter 8 of City of Glass. Have volunteers show theirs to the class.

Write down events from the book, general or specific. Cut the paper into strips with each event separate, and have the students draw them out of a hat. Then draw a long line on the chalkboard.
