Imagine you are Louise Kavanaugh. While in the stable, you hear screams coming from the manor and run to help your mother. When you reach the bedroom door, it suddenly opens revealing a bizarre scene inside. Write your impressions of the scene in your mother's room, as well as your fears, hopes, and questions after realizing that you must flee for your life.

The Characters Involved

Pick any five of the characters that Hamilton portrays in the story. For each character, identify their main characteristics or traits and why each of these characteristics are important to the character's development and actions. Then, for each of your identified characters, find an image (from a magazine, web site, newspaper, etc.) that portrays the character as you imagine him (or her) to be.
