The objective of this lesson is to examine Ruben's career, and how it relates to his identity. Ruben is a historian. He recently retired as a history professor from Carbin University in Corbindale, New York

Class Discussion: Who is Ruben? How does he introduce himself? Why is it significant that he introduces himself by his career? In what way has Ruben become history? What was Ruben's field of study? How does he believe his career has helped him notice the relationship between history and politics? How has his career shaped his point of view and perception? How has his career affected his life and the person he has become? Has his career come to define him? How does Ruben see himself? How does Ruben's career relate to his identity?
Activity: Divide the students into small groups. Have each group make a list of Ruben's prizes...
