Objective
The objective of this lesson is to examine Simonopio's cleft palate, and what is communicated about superstition. Simonopio's lower jaw was perfectly formed. However, his upper jaw was missing a lip and a palate. One worker believed that Simonopio was kissed by the devil because of the deformity.
