Objective
The aim of this lesson is to examine the Moonstone.
Lesson
1. Class discussion. What is the history of the Moonstone? Why does its history make it so important and priceless? How do the different characters view the stone differently? Do the students think it is right that the stone should be given to Rachel?
2. Ask the students to write a timeline of the Moonstone. Where was it found? Who was its first owner? Why did it become such a sacred object?
3. Ask the students to choose one the characters involved with the Moonstone before it got to Rachel and write their feelings about the stone. Why is the Moonstone important to him or her?
4. Homework. In preparation for tomorrow's lesson, write the advantages and disadvantages of first person point of view.
