Objective
In Part 1, Chapters 1 and 2, the author first compares Alexander to many other famous leaders. He also describes Alexander's life up until the age of twenty-one. This lesson will discuss these two chapters and the events described in them.

Class Discussion: To whom was Alexander the Great compared? Why was he compared to these individuals?
Small Group Activity: Create a KWL chart for Alexander the Great, listing what is known about him up through Chapter Two and what the students would like to know about him.
Class Discussion: Have the students share their KWL charts and create a class KWL chart. As the students learn more about Alexander the Great, have them add this information to the KWL chart.
