Rodeo and Animal Cruelty

The history of rodeo in America has been criticized for animal cruelty. Give students an opportunity to research this and write a 1-2 page paper discussing animal cruelty in the rodeo.

Cast a Film

Ask students to cast the individuals from the text as though it were a film from actors today. Why would they choose who they choose? Describe their vision of the characters.

Write a Poem or Song

Ask students to write a poem (or song) from the point of view of one of the individuals from the text. Students may share their work with the class.
