Lesson 1 (from Part I (Chapters 1 - 7))
Objective
The objective of this lesson is for students to analyze Lily's attitude towards taking her ADHD medication. In Part I, Lily has been secretly avoiding taking her ADHD medication for a while, and her mother is upset about this. Lily has been hiding her pills in a jar under her bed, and Lily's mother suspects that she is not taking the medication, so she watches Lily to make sure she takes it. When Lily is on her medication, she can focus better, but she does not feel like herself. She feels as if all the enjoyment is taken out of her life through the effects of the medication. Lily's best friend Rosalind is sympathetic to Lily's problem and does not think she should be forced to take medication either.
