• This book is written from the first person perspective and in the past-tense.
• In Chapter 1, Lily Michaels-Ryan is the narrator, and she is a high school student in the midst of taking a four hour-long English test.
• Lily noticed the handle of the accordion-like retractable wall moving in her classroom, and she could not help but go over and investigate. She pulled up on the handle hard, and realized someone was on the other side of the door.
• The door, which had an electrical cable, broke when the cable snapped.
