Lesson 1 (from Chapters 1-3)
Objective
The objective of this lesson is to discuss the point of view of the novel in Chapters 1-3, and how it influences the narrative The novel is told from two points of view. Some sections are written in the third person as the author describes the library and the fire. Other sections are written in first-person, almost as though the author is writing a memoir.
