Draw a Setting

Give students an opportunity to creatively render one of the settings described in The Infernal Desire Machines of Doctor Hoffman. Students may draw, photoshop, paint, or create a model of the set.

News Article

Ask students to look in their local newspaper for an article that involves some aspect of the novel and bring it to class. They will present it in front of the class and explain why it relates to the novel.

Draw a Character

Have students draw their interpretation of a character from the novel. Artistic ability is not important, but their drawings must reflect the type of costume worn by the character, whether the character is fat or thin, bald, prim or slovenly. What colors do the characters wear?
