Write a Nonlinear Story of Your Own
Write a nonlinear story of 2-3 pages. Open your story with a character's words or actions that will puzzle your audience. Then, through a series of flashbacks from differing time periods, interspersed with passages that tell what is happening in the narrative present, gradually let the audience in on what the character's motivations are. Think about how your placement of passages from different settings in time can create suspense or tension as well as juxtapositions and ironies that convey meaning.
Draw Easter at Bird House
Choose a scene or scenes from a typical celebration of Easter during the Bird family's early years at Bird House. Use details from the text to recreate the moment(s) you have chosen. Then, give your drawing a title that captures the significance of the scene(s).
