Design Your Own Henna
The students can research henna designs and/or make up their own designs/patterns. The designs can be drawn on paper using brown marker or paint. A henna kit could also be purchased, so the students can try out doing henna designs on each other or on a family member. Brown, black, or another color washable marker could also be used in place of the henna for a more affordable option.
Watercolor Sari Design
The students can research sari fabric designs or create their own unique design, first using pencil and colored pencil on paper. Watercolor paints, pencils, and watercolor paper can then be used to create a beautiful copy of an Indian Sari. Watercolor colored pencils would also be a good alternative to water color paints.
