1) Introduction of Lesson Topic: When the first students come into class, have them write about their personal opinion of snail mail letters. Do you write letters? Why or why not? Do you think personal letters are important? What kind of things would you write about in a letter to the important people in your life? Allow some volunteers to read their ideas.
