Objective

The Good Nurse: A True Story of Medicine, Madness, and Murder is a true-crime thriller by Charles Graeber centering on the murders, investigation, and trial of serial killer Charles Cullen. The author opens Part I: Chapter 1 with an introduction to “Charlie” in 2003 and an overview of Cullen’s childhood, young adulthood, and marriage to Adrianne Baum. In this lesson, students will research author Charles Graeber and the Charles Cullen murder trials, and will analyze and discuss the book’s genre and narrative style established in Part I: Chapter 1.
