Lesson 1 (from Foreword and Chapter 1, The New Seers)
Objective
The concept of being a seer might be something that is foreign to many readers and students, perhaps even a concept which is strange. The objective of this lesson is to discuss the value of having seers in the world, whether there is merit to their existence and whether students believe they can exist.
Lesson
1. Have each student define the idea of being a seer as they understood it before reading the book.
2. In smaller groups, have students discuss whether they think being a seer is an important job in the world.
3. As a class, have the students discuss the power of being a seer in the world. What purpose do seers present to others in the world? What are the downsides to being a seer?
4. Homework: Have each student discuss whether or not they would want to gain the skills to become a seer.
