Objective
The Fault in Our Stars is a novel by John Green. The story follows the protagonist and narrator, Hazel Grace Lancaster, as she battles cancer. Not only is Hazel trying to live the normal life of a 16-year-old girl, but she is also struggling with what it will be like for her parents after she dies. In this lesson, students will conduct research on John Green and the symptoms, prognosis, and treatments for thyroid cancer, and will identify and discuss the narrative style and setting of The Fault in Our Stars.
