Objective
The organization of the novel is shown to readers with chapter titles, chapter setup as well as chapter context. The objective of this lesson is to learn the role of organization in the novel.
Lesson
1) Class Discussion: The story reads in chronological order, which shows the type of organization the novel has. Why does the novel have this type of organization? What are the pros and cons of this format? What other forms of organization does the content of the novel portray?
2) Partner Discussion: The chapters of the novel are numbers instead of titled. Why is this? What reasons could the author have for deciding to number the chapters? Are there any benefits to this writing style?
