Objective
The Death Cure is the third installation of James Dashner’s dystopian young adult science fiction series The Maze Runner Trilogy. Preceded by the novels The Maze Runner and The Scorch Trials, The Death Cure maintains focus on teenage protagonist Thomas as he and his fellow Gladers seek an end to the governmental organization known as WICKED. In this lesson, students will research James Dashner, detail and discuss overviews of the previous novels in the series, and discuss the setting and narrative style established in Chapters 1-4 of The Death Cure.
