Objective
The objective of this lesson is for students to analyze Carter's descriptions of the forest. The first is always dangerous, Carter writes, because there are no people around, and the most dangerous creature in the forest is the wolf. But the forest can also be beautiful, as there are always interesting things to look at, and the forest can also offer sustenance and delight.
