When she used this object during her university years, it was directed only toward pieces of paper, so at that point, this object represented the mastery of a hobby. When this character made a deal with Nermin Filipovic to work as a sniper defending the city under siege and later to defend the cellist during his 22 days of protest, this object came to represent a transformation that could never be undone, for once Arrow uses this object to take a human life, she knows that she will never be the same.
