1. From the handout and a lecture on parables, New Age literature, and metaphysics, there is a discussion period to make sure everyone understands the terms. The parable of the novel relates to living life to the fullest and gaining spiritual (not in the religious sense) insight. Discuss the idea that people have all they need to understand the God within. Emphasize that the concept is not meant to replace religion, but to expand the consciousness of the individual.
