1) Class Discussion: Who is Arrian, and what is his background? Why is Arrian qualified to write about Alexander the Great? What perspective does Arrian provide in the book on the historical aspects of Alexander's life? Which research does Arrian complete in writing "The Campaigns of Alexander"?
2) Writing and Analysis: Have the class take 15 minutes and write down 3 things that Arrian intends to accomplish in writing "The Campaigns of Alexander". Afterward, talk about the answers discussing how Arrian will try to fulfill his agenda.
