• The Book of Delights is a collection of 102 essays written daily by poet and author Ross Gay, each about a moment of daily joy.
• In the Preface, Gay relates that a year prior in July he had an idea to write a daily passage about delight. He made up some basic rules for his experiment. He would write these entries by hand over the course of a year—from his forty-second birthday until his forty-third.
