The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine is a non-fiction book by Michael Lewis which describes several of the key players in the creation of the credit default swap market of the financial crisis of 2007-2010. Michael Lewis (born 1960) is an American contemporary non-fiction author of best-selling books including Liar's Poker and Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game. In this lesson, students are introduced to the book and will research and discuss its author, Michael Lewis.
