Draw the General

Sketch the General using descriptions from the book. Label each feature with a quote and the number of the page it comes from.

Map the Nation

Draw a map of "the nation." Place all major landmarks you can find on your map. Make a legend labeling each feature with corresponding quotes from the text. Discuss your results with the class.

Write a Poem

Imagine that you are a poet living in the nation under the General. Write a poem for the March poetry contest. Remember - government censorship can be a quite a drag, so be sure to write an acceptable poem. Criticism of the government, mocking of the General, and other controversial materials would not be well received.
