Objective
The objective of this Daily Lesson is for students to analyze Green's choice in writing The Anthropocene Reviewed as an essay collection rather than as a memoir. As Green points out in the introduction, he sees strong connections between reviews and autobiography; after all, reviewers are writing through the lens of their own experiences. Green seems to enjoy broadening out and communicating some of his personal experiences through diverse and relatable topic areas that span pop culture, science, sports, and other phenomenon.
