1) Library Research: Have students research Margaret Lane, the author of "The Tale of Beatrix Potter." Have students create a profile of Lane. Include her background, occupation, connection to Beatrix Potter, and relationship with Potter. After researching her life, have students write a report that discusses whether Lane was a capable choice for writing this biography. In your opinion, does her knowledge and relationship with Potter help or hinder this work?
