Objective
The objective of this Daily Lesson is for students to analyze the deception the narrator uncovers among sorrowful beasts. For much of this chapter in Part I on sorrowful beasts, Ge demonstrates the narrator's confusion over her friend Lefty's erratic behavior, the nature of sorrowful beasts, and the love stories in the characters' lives. By the end of this section, the narrator realizes that the sorrowful beast Cloud has devoured his lover Lefty and then taken on her form, telling everyone it was actually Cloud that died.
