Modern Akathists (Easter Night)
As a class, think of three things, one in each of people, places, or things to write songs about. Then make up two rules about the songs, such as the song must rhyme or the song has to have an adverb ending in -ly on every other line. Every student is to write a poem or song about one of the people, places, or things and according to the rules that are set by the students. On a voluntary basis, they can read or perform the song.
