Dolphin Poems

Have the students write regular dialogue using the neo-dolphin form of haikus.

Word Art

Have the students choose a single word that describes the book or a certain character in the book. Have the students write their chosen word out in large and eloquent lettering. Display all of these words together. Note the different and contrasting ideas that are used for the same element.

Game Time

Have the students create a game of this story. It can be a board game, a card game, a strategic game, etc. Create a memory game with matching pictures and terms from the book. Have a game day where you play all the different games created.

Have the students bring in an article from the newspaper that reminds them of an event in the book.
